Cloud photographs and classification results
Android app
The app reads a photograph only after you take or select it. Cropping, image-quality checks, and classification take place on the device. PictureCloud does not include the photograph, inferred cloud label, score vector, or observation history in analytics events.
When an observation is saved, the app stores its timestamp, model scores, and a reduced thumbnail in private app storage. The history currently contains up to ten observations. You can delete one observation, clear the complete history in Settings, or remove the app and its local data through Android.
Website
The browser tool decodes and classifies the selected photograph locally. The photograph and result are held in the current browser page while you use the tool and are not uploaded to PictureCloud, Firebase, Google Analytics, or Amplitude for recognition or storage. Closing or refreshing the page clears that in-page selection.
Usage analytics
App analytics through Amplitude
Usage analytics is enabled initially in the Android app and can be switched off at any time under Settings → Privacy & data. When enabled, PictureCloud records a limited set of product events: app opening; camera or gallery selection; editor actions; classification start, completion time, and whether the app found basic photo-quality warnings; and opening the history, guide, or settings.
These events do not contain photographs, filenames, cloud labels, model scores, or saved observation history. Amplitude may process technical information associated with delivery of an event, such as device and app information, identifiers, operating-system information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and the IP address itself, according to its service configuration and policies. PictureCloud sends events to Amplitude’s European ingestion endpoint.
Website analytics through Google Analytics
The website asks before loading Google Analytics. If you allow it, Google Analytics can measure pages viewed, sessions, approximate location, and browser or device information and may use first-party storage such as the _ga cookie. Advertising storage and ad-personalization signals remain denied by PictureCloud’s website configuration. Your selected photograph and classification result are not sent to Google Analytics.
You can reopen from the footer of any page and decline future analytics. Declining before acceptance prevents the Analytics script from loading. Declining later disables further PictureCloud analytics collection in that browser, although information already sent remains subject to Google’s retention settings.
Website hosting and ordinary connection data
The website is served by Firebase Hosting. Like other web hosts, Firebase receives connection information needed to deliver and protect the service, including IP addresses and requested resources. Google states that Firebase Hosting retains IP information for a few months for abuse detection and usage analysis. The LiteRT.js and TensorFlow.js browser runtimes are currently served by jsDelivr. When you select Broad, Detailed, or Fine detail, the corresponding model files are served by Hugging Face and its delivery network. Those providers receive ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and the requested files. The selected photograph and classification result are not sent with those model requests.
Advertising and consent controls
The website does not currently load AdSense. The Android project can include Google Mobile Ads only in a release explicitly built with advertising enabled. When advertising is enabled, Google’s User Messaging Platform checks whether a consent message or privacy-options entry point is required and the app requests ads only when the SDK reports that it may do so. Google and participating advertising providers may then process device identifiers, IP address, interaction data, and consent choices under their own policies.
If advertising privacy options are required for your region and build, the app displays an entry in Settings so you can revisit them. Advertising availability can therefore differ between app versions and regions.
Contact messages
If you email PictureCloud, the message, email address, and any information you choose to provide are used to answer and manage your request. Do not send photographs or sensitive personal information unless necessary. Contact correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the request, record-keeping, security, or legal obligations.
Accounts, public content, and location
PictureCloud does not currently provide accounts, profiles, public posting, social features, or cloud photo storage. The app does not request precise device location for its classification workflow. If these features change, this policy and the relevant consent flow will be updated before they are introduced.
Service providers and international processing
- Firebase privacy and security information
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics consent mode information
- Amplitude Privacy Policy
- Google Mobile Ads privacy and messaging information
- jsDelivr privacy policy
- Hugging Face privacy policy
These providers may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable contractual and transfer safeguards. PictureCloud’s operator is responsible for configuring the services used by the project; each provider is also responsible for its own processing activities.
Retention and control
- App observations: remain on your device until individually deleted, cleared, automatically displaced after the ten-item limit, or removed with app data.
- App settings: remain on your device until changed or app data is cleared.
- Analytics: retained according to the configured Google Analytics and Amplitude retention settings and applicable provider terms.
- Hosting logs: retained by Firebase according to its service documentation; Google currently describes IP retention for Hosting as a few months.
- Contact messages: retained only as described above.
Your choices and rights
You can disable app analytics in Settings, manage website analytics through the footer, delete app observations locally, and stop using the service at any time. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data held by the operator, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
Because PictureCloud does not receive your photographs or create a user account, the operator normally cannot retrieve those local items for you. For analytics or correspondence requests, enough information may be needed to locate a relevant record. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
PictureCloud is a general educational tool and is not designed to collect information directly from children. It does not provide accounts or public posting. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use where required and can disable analytics or clear app data.
Security and changes
PictureCloud uses HTTPS, restrictive website security headers, local photo processing, and limited event payloads to reduce data exposure. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. This policy may be updated when the products, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
